Support O262

I’m going to be working and training to cross the finish line at Copley on April 19, but I won’t be able to do it alone. My teammates on the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team and I have set a team goal of $4.4 million in fundraising over the course of the challege; I personally have established the goal of raising $6,500 over the course of my marathon journey.

How can you help? There are many options available. Among them:

  • Donate online: My DFMC personal fundraising page will allow you to donate directly to the cause. You can also easily follow my fundraising progress over the course of my fundraising/training pledge!
  • Inquire about company/corporate matching programs: Many companies or corporations will match the charitable gifts made by their employees. Ask your HR representative about whether your company does so – it is a wonderful way to offer further assistance with minimal effort.
  • Motivate My Month: Interested in a more creative approach to making a donation? Look no further than Motivate My Month. Pledge a donation – for example, 50 cents or 1 dollar – per mile run over the course of a month. Motivate my November, December, January, February or March! You can follow my progress on dailymile. It’s a creative approach to donating that will help keep me moving during the cold winter months! To join the Motivate My Month program, email me at revelwriter at yahoo dot com.
  • Spread the word: Word of mouth will be a huge part of making Operation 26.2 a success. Please tell your friends, loved ones, neighbors and colleagues about my efforts! Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and the like are invaluable tools, and I’d greatly appreciate any help you can give in telling people about my goals and this website. It is no exaggeration when I say that every little bit will help this operation.
  • Speak up: Do you have training suggestions or a really great running mix? Has cancer touched you or your loved ones? I would love to hear your stories/anecdotes/advice. When I set out on my run in April, I will be running for people I’ve known and loved – I would love to also bring your support and stories with me.
  • Stay tuned: I will be regularly updating Operation 26.2 with not only the progress and experiences of this marthon training program, but also with further fundraising efforts and initiatives. Please be sure to bookmark and come back!
